Eatology Asia
As meal planner, Eatology provide premium, tailor-made meal programs and deliver delicious, healthy food to the door. Eatology's professionally prepared meals are designed by renowned chefs, tested by dietitians, and freshly cooked everyday.
Problem
Eatology's old site was built using Magento 1.9, which was end of life. Magento 2.0 is a complete rewrite in software terms so they were faced with porting their site to Magento 2 or migrating to a new platform.
Solution
It was agreed upon to use Wordpress and Woocommerce ecommerce plugin. I connected Woocommerce to their Dear Inventory System using Dear's own plugin to sync the products from Dear to Woocommerce. The products are variable products, which means one product with different variations e.g. one meal, two meals, three meals etc.
After the I initially setup the site we split from me being the sole developer doing everything, into frontend and backend, with one of the other developers in my team. This was a large project and new phases were planned for later in 2020.
